Back to Art

Also back to journalling.  I'm still not sure how many people read these things, but it'll be a good way to vent frustrations, ramble, or what not.  I suppose, in the end, I just like writing a journal.  Well, a more public journal.  And since there's almost no way for me to get motivated to go re-start my primary Blog, I suppose this will do.

Anyway, stuff... stuff... a lot of stuff has happened.  I got a new tablet, that has inspired me to draw again (As you likely can see from my gallery).  I got conned into writing something I'm not entirely proud of (Alcohol may or may not have been involved.  It also may or may not have involved exchange for in-game currency of an MMO.  Don't look at me that way.)  I also applied to a better school than my current college.  I'm about 98% sure I've gotten in, but I won't celebrate until I've paid for my classes and I'm starting to learn.  I've also decided to change my career path to something with a more steady income.  No longer am I going to aim to be a sole professional author (Though I'd still like to do that).  Now I'm going to make video games!  I hear you laughing, people who know the industry.  But still, I'm not looking to get rich quick.  I'm looking for something that I can do that I enjoy, and at the same time pays a relatively steady paycheck.  Truth be told?  Writing isn't going to do that for me.  Hopefully being a video game dev will though.  I also started two tumblrs, the first one, Ask Lovecolt (Found at asklovecolt.tumlr.com), is a podcast-esque ask tumblr where I write scripts and answer questions.  It's practically dead because I found out that recording audio for an audio drama as I'm doing is a lot more work than I thought it would be.  I'd like to get back to it eventually.  Perhaps when I move out or something.  Unno.  Anyway Ask Lovecolt is a Tumblr about a mad scientist, Dr. H.P. Lovecolt, is attempting to take over Equestria.  Yes, yes it is pony related.  But I feel that you should be used to that by now.  Also yes, Lovecolt, if you couldn't tell, is my OC.  I might start the Tumblr back up doing a mix of audio and visual.  Unno, things to plan for the future.  The other tumblr, Ask The Great and Terrible Trevor (Found at magicalponytrevor.tumblr.com), is a more traditional ask tumblr with art included.  Now you might ask, who is Trevor?  Well he's my interpretation of a genderbent (R63) Trixie.  Why go with the name Trevor instead of Tristan, generally the more common of the names?

Break paragraph to explain.  There are two primary reasons as to go with Trevor instead of Tristan.  The first is I wanted to design and develop him on my own.  No pre-conceptions, nothing.  The other was how the name came about.  You see, last year at Nan Desu Kan (The local Anime Convention) I decided I'd like to Cosplay.  Now I wondered for a bit who I would cosplay as, and I settled on The Great and Powerful Trixie!  So I went, made my costume, and hung out with the bronies at the con.  While I was there I made several friends, and most of them indeed called me Trixie (Some of them still do call me Trixie XD), but one continuously called me Trevor instead.  I liked the name, and it makes me chuckle thinking Trixie as a Magical Trevor stand-in.  As such, The Great and Terrible Trevor was Born (An allusion to the Great and Terrible Oz from the Emerald City books)

And I think that's all there is to it.  Oh, I am going to be participating in EqD's Artist Training Grounds, so expect to see art from that.  Until next time, be seeing you.
